Sneak Peek!

I recently had the privilege of sponsoring a retreat set up for women photographers, by amazing photographer Andria Linquist and make up artist / yogi Gaylinyet.  The two talented women sent me these images of a photo shoot they did with some of my items.
Which means you get to see a sneak peek of new items! The entire new collection will be available this coming Tuesday!

Looking back (and Forward)

It has been such an interesting year. It was Gift Shop Brooklyn’s most successful year (because you guys are SO awesome!! Thank you!!) but the success lead to burn out, and instead of hiring help or figuring out how to fix it, I closed my shop for the majority of the summer. It was almost definitely a mistake; but a mistake I have learned from. Even though I feel like I am still recovering from burnout, I am planning new things for 2015! Taking steps to avoid making the same mistakes, and to keep Gift Shop Brooklyn exciting for you and me!  Thank you so much for being along for the ride, and for your constant support of American Made!! Here’s to a fantastic 2015! (and please feel free to let me know if there’s any items you would like to see offered this year!). xo

Sidenote:
Here is a really great article
on burnout I came across, Im sure I’m not the only one who can relate.

Jen Huang

I really love Jen Huang’s Instagram feed, her pictures are refreshingly simple and elegant. The colors are all so light and delicate; it gives me the feeling of purity, each image makes me feel like I can smell fresh sweet air.
Absolutely perfect for family and wedding photographs. Or, as my sister said, “I want her to photograph my life and make it look that good”.

Photo Diary

You may have noticed I put my etsy shop on vacation recently for a while; basically I need a break. For the past two years I have been going non stop at full speed. I love what I do and I love keeping all my wonderful customers happy, but I think I finally reached a point of burnout. I started not feeling well (nothing serious), basically just my body telling me it is going to stop functioning properly until I treat it better.  So I am on a short, but necessary cleanse – physically and mentally.  Not to get too intense or personal. just letting you all know what is happening over here! I will be back (at full speed I’m sure) soon! In the mean time, giftshopbrooklyn.com is active, and orders can still be placed there.

On a different note, I am finalizing styles for my next collection, so any requests?? Please feel free to leave comments of what you would like to see offered in my shop this winter.

traveling gift shop!

A few pics from the past week, including the the fair I did! Fairs are so much work; but so rewarding when everything is all set up like a little store front. Very satisfying!
